Terms of Use

Effective September 8, 2026. Last updated {date.today().strftime('%B %-d, %Y')}.

Agreement

This website is published by the {esc(SITE['committee'])}, a political action committee sponsored by the Simi Valley Police Officers Association. We refer to the committee as "we" and to you as "you." By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What this site is

This is political campaign material. It tells you which candidates the committee endorses for the November 3, 2026 election and why. It is an expression of opinion, advocacy, and endorsement.

It is not legal advice, and it is not the official source for election information. Ventura County Elections runs your election. For anything that decides whether or how your ballot counts, rely on the county and the California Secretary of State, not on us. We link to both throughout the site.

Accuracy

We work to keep this site accurate and we footnote our sources so you can check them. Even so, elections move quickly. Candidate positions, filings, dates, drop box locations, and vote center hours can change after we publish. We make no promise that everything here is complete or current at the moment you read it, and we may update or correct any part of it without notice. If you spot an error, email {e} and we will look at it.

Endorsements

Our endorsements are our own. They are independent expenditures. No candidate and no committee controlled by a candidate authorized, requested, reviewed, or paid for this site. An endorsement is our opinion about a candidate's commitment to public safety. It is not a guarantee of how anyone will vote or act in office, and it does not mean a candidate agrees with us on everything.

Candidates we endorse may use our logo only under a separate written, limited, revocable license. That license requires the phrase "Proudly endorsed by the Simi Valley POA" alongside the logo and forbids using our name or mark in any communication that attacks or disparages another candidate.

Our content and marks

The text, layout, code, and design of this site belong to us or our licensors. The Simi Valley Police Officers Association name and badge are marks of the association. You may read, print, link to, and share these pages for personal, non-commercial, informational use. You may not copy our content into other campaign material, use our name or badge to suggest an endorsement we have not given, or present our content as anyone else's work.

Candidate photographs are supplied by or published by the candidates and their campaigns and are used here to identify the people we endorse. They remain the property of their owners.

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to break the law. Do not try to gain access to any part of it you are not meant to reach, interfere with how it works, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people, submit false or someone else's information through our forms, or use anything you find here to harass anyone.

Sign-ups, email, and text messages

If you give us your details, you confirm they are yours and accurate. Text messages go only to people who check the consent box. Message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, and consent is not a condition of any contribution. Reply STOP to stop. Every email carries an unsubscribe link. How we handle what you give us is set out in our privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.

The district lookup

The address lookup is a convenience. It queries boundary data published by the City of Simi Valley, the City of Oxnard, and Ventura County, and geocoding services we do not control. It can be wrong, out of date, or unavailable. Your official district and ballot come from Ventura County Elections. Confirm there before you rely on the result.

Links to other sites

We link to campaigns, election officials, news outlets, and social platforms. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.

No warranty

This site is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not promise the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither the committee nor the association, nor their officers, directors, members, volunteers, or vendors, is liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost opportunity, arising out of your use of this site. Our total liability for any claim relating to this site will not exceed one hundred dollars. Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to hold the committee harmless from claims and costs arising out of your misuse of this site or your breach of these terms.

Governing law

California law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts serving Ventura County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes

We may revise these terms. The version posted here is the one in force, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

If part of this is unenforceable

If a court sets aside any part of these terms, the rest stays in force.
